High Heart Reiki is a one-person practice owned and operated by Sara Christian in Lakeville, MA. I take your privacy seriously - not because I'm legally required to, but because trust is the foundation of everything I do. This policy explains simply and honestly what information I collect, why I collect it, and how I keep it safe.

What type of information do I collect?

I collect personal information that you voluntarily provide when contacting me to book a session, including your name, email address, and phone number.

New clients are also asked to complete a confidential intake form prior to their first session. This form is delivered and collected through Jotform, a third-party form platform. The intake form collects:

Your name and contact information
Basic health history and any relevant medical conditions
Your reason for seeking Reiki
Emergency contact information
Your signature acknowledging informed consent

Once your intake form is received, your records are maintained in secure, confidential paper files kept within my private home studio. Your information is never shared with third parties.

I may also receive personal health information that you choose to share with me before, during, or after your session, including responses to follow-up communications. This information is used solely to provide you with the best possible care.

This website uses Wix's built-in analytics tools, which may collect non-personal information such as browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the site. This information is used solely to help me understand and improve your experience on this website.

How do I collect information?

Through direct contact via phone, text, or email when you reach out to book a session

Why do I collect this information?

I collect personal information for the following purposes:

To respond to booking inquiries and schedule sessions

I do not use your personal information for marketing campaigns or newsletters. I will only contact you in relation to your session unless you specifically request otherwise.

How do I store, use, share and disclose my site visitors' personal information?

Any personal health information you share with High Heart Reiki - whether through direct communication or during sessions - is kept strictly confidential. High Heart Reiki is not a covered entity under HIPAA; however, your privacy is treated with the utmost respect and care at all times.

A Note on Mandatory Reporting

As a registered nurse licensed in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, I am a mandatory reporter under Massachusetts state law. This means that regardless of the context in which I become aware of it - including during Reiki sessions - I am legally required to report reasonable suspicions of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a child, elderly person, or person with a disability to the appropriate authorities.

This obligation exists independently of my Reiki practice and cannot be waived. If you share information with me that triggers my mandatory reporting obligation, I am required by law to act on it.

Outside of this legal obligation, everything you share with me is held in the strictest confidence.

How do I communicate with my site visitors?

I may contact you via phone, text, or email for the following purposes:

To confirm your appointment
To send a reminder before your session
To check in on your well-being the day following your session

I do not currently send marketing emails or newsletters. If this changes in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly and you will always have the option to opt out.

Note on future online payments: High Heart Reiki does not currently process online payments. Sessions are payable by cash or Venmo. If online payment is introduced in the future, this privacy policy will be updated to reflect any additional data collection related to payment processing.
